Excavation, of existing drive ways requires excavating, the entire drive way almost as much as starting new. The reason as you will probably see in the photos is that the wear that a driveway, has over many years without touching it up. More often than not most driveways, do not get compacted, as that is an added expense that most home owners do not want to add to the cost. I get some requests for comaction when rebuilding a driveway, but most often it is not wanted due to the cost. After repairing the driveway, adding new base course, is required. Then as in the first driveway, we compacted this one and the surface has a head start to becoming very hard quicker.
