Cedar Crest Excavation

Retaining Walls

Excavation, to install new retaining walls, is important. Retaining walls, need to have a very strong foundation, to support the weight of the retaining wall, but also need to be able to support the ground pressure that will push against it from the static pressure of the ground. The retaining wall, area must be over excavated, in order to allow for a way to have water drained away from the retaining wall to another area. After the excavation, of the soil for the retaining wall, you then must excavate, for the footers that the wall or walls will sit on. The footers are determinded by the length and height of the retaining wall, as well as the size of blocks to be used. Retaining walls, come in different sizes of blocks as you will see in this section. The blocks are used in the same manner only dependant on preferance of appearance and texture desired.
